Where Do the Donations Go?
The Taste of Lincoln Avenue is a street festival and fundraiser for the Wrightwood Neighbors Association. The money collected from the event’s gate donations goes to fund grants the organization gives out each year to local and neighborhood charities, Chicago Public Schools, neighborhood parks and improvements.
Over the past 35 years, Wrightwood has worked hard to raise over $2.5 Million!
Some of our recent grant recipients include:
- Alcott Elementary, Lincoln Park High School and Oscar Mayer Magnet – WNA Helps with various school programs, such as the fine arts department or aid in field trips
- Engine 55 – Fire Department – Help with various improvements and essentials at the firehouse
- 19th District Caps Office & Chicago Police Department – Help with various community programs for seniors
- Lincoln Park Branch – Chicago Public Libraries – New seating and décor for the childrens library room
- Peggy Notebaert – Funds to bring children from our CPS schools to their museum programming
- Dignity Diner – Help feed the homeless and stock the food pantry
- Chicago Sculpture Exhibit – To sponsor an artist’s sculpture in our community
- Lincoln Park Community Research Initiative – To help fund various research initiatives in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. The goal of the LPCRI is to collect, document and preserve the shared history of DePaul University and the Lincoln Park community. The historical materials collected are housed in the Lincoln Park Neighborhood Collection of the DePaul University Library.

The Wrightwood Neighbors Association is an all volunteer-run organization made up of residents and business owners that has been active since 1962. The WNA is the community group for all people living in the area bounded by Halsted and Fullerton and Lakewood and Diversey. It is the neighborhood’s central source of information and activity, with a goal to help you meet those who live around you, keep you informed of events in the area, and provide you with a direct link to the planning and development of our community. It’s mission is to promote local safety and a healthy and vibrant community through the cooperative efforts of local residents and businesses. All residents and business within the boundaries are welcome to join the WNA here.
